Can we please stop comparing Grand Park, the new park in Bunker Hill, to New York’s Central Park? Los Angeles is not New York and most Angelenos not only know this, but they embrace it. Central Park is a vital part of the New York environment because for many New Yorkers it’s the only place to find nature within a busy metropolis. Los Angeles does not have this issue as we can quickly reach a beach, a desert, or a mountain—and be back home in time for dinner—any day of the week. So please, let’s stop comparing LA to NY and simply enjoy everything Los Angeles has to offer.
Note: This is not written in response to the linked LA Weekly article, which is actually a positive article on the grand opening of Grand Park. My comments are in response to many comments I’ve read and heard regarding the park over the last few months.
