AES is always the same for me. A small convention hall filled with a ton of equipment I’d love to experiment with but simply can’t afford.
The 64-channel API console with included DAW controller features was excellent. That will set you back about $400,000.
I also would like to get a chance to try out the new quad-diaphragm Audio-Technica 5040.
The one item I’m pretty sure to grab in the near future is the Izotope Trash plug-in. It’s perfect for taking sounds and transforming them into completely different “noises”. That’s right up my alley.
AES 2013 is heading back to NY but I found out AES will be in my backyard; the L.A. convention center. It looks like L.A. Live really impressed the AES folks.
